In life there are so many choices that we can make. That’s the problem with life. So many choices and so many decisions to make. If you are like most of us creatives you are good at so many things, narrowing it down to just one or two that are going to be your main focus. Decide on what you are Best at doing. This may seem like a simple question to ask, but most of us go through life not thinking in these terms. There may be multiple things that you do daily. You may work as a butcher, baker or even a candlestick maker, but what are you the best at doing. That is a different question. When you can answer that question, then you can begin the narrow down the list of Things that Best fit in your Life and Love.
What would you do even if you didn’t get paid? The second question that is vital in your quest. What of the things on your list, would you do even if you didn’t get paid? I love to write. I love to write about motivational issues and topics. Even if I never got paid to do what I do, I would most certainly continue to share in this matter. Check off another thing on your list. Here’s the biggest reason why we use this method. Your passion is different from your job. Jobs are something you must do to get paid. Passions are things that pay because you really want to do them all the time.
What do you think about the most? What are you passionate about? We touched on this is the second point. What or who is on your mind all the time. This isn’t so much an obsession but a preoccupation. Is your mind always on cars or skyscrapers? Are you always seeing design in everything? Is music always spinning in your mind? Then these are clear signs that anything other than what you are thinking about the most isn’t going to fulfill you. It just isn’t the thing you should be doing.
You should probably begin to think about transitioning out of that field and into the one that is your passion. Before long, you will be so frustrated that your present occupation will become dreary.
Ask a friend for their opinion. Specifically, what do they think you are best at doing. Sometimes we need a second opinion in life. Those closest to us. The people we see daily can sometimes be the best source of advice. You may want to ask one of your closest confidants, “What do you think I am best at doing?” In many cases they will be able to tell you right off the bat, what that is. In some cases, it may confirm what you already know in your heart of hearts already.
Ask yourself, “If I could do something the rest of my life, what would it be.” Finally, when the rubber hits the road, whatever you choose, it may be something you will do for a considerable long time, maybe even the rest of your life. What would you choose, if it was going to be the thing you did the rest of your life. In my case, would I choose to write about being the best person you can be for my readers? You bet. In a heartbeat.
Life has so many choices. In order to be happy, healthy and whole it is important to do the thing that Best Fits your Life and Love. It may take a few weeks to narrow down your list to just a couple but once you make you choices, life will begin to take on a whole new meaning and gain purpose.
